FUN ANIMAL FACTS
that you may not know

  1. There are only three animals with blue tongues:  the black bear, the Chow Chow dog and the blue-tongued lizard.

  2. No two zebras have the same striped patter.

  3. A cat has 32 muscles in each ear.



  4. The only domestic animal not mentioned in the Bible is the cat.

  5. Roadrunners are large (about two feet long) crested birds that prefer to run rather than fly.   They eat rattlesnakes whole, and they can sprint 15 miles per hour.

  6. A male Angler fish attaches itself to a female and never lets go.  Their vascular systems unite and the male becomes entirely dependent on the female's blood for nutrition

  7. Pigs, walruses and light-colored horses can be sunburned. Armadillos can walk underwater.

  8. Armadillos are the only animal besides humans that can get leprosy

  9. An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.



 

  1. Many hamsters only blink one eye at a time.

  2.  Camel's milk does not curdle.

  3.  Goat's eyes have rectangular pupils.



  4.  Beaver teeth are so sharp that Native Americans once used them as knife blades.

  5.  Cats have over one hundred vocal sounds, while dogs only have about ten.

  6. All pet hamsters are descended from a single female wild golden hamster found with a   litter of 12 young in Syria in 1930.

  7.  Giraffes have no vocal cords.
