May/June 2010

In This Moment

I sit on a wooden bench
where the river flows
my attention resting
in the present
I drop my thoughts
into the current.

Yesterday’s woes
have no hold on me now
and tomorrow
is out of sight.
I am free to see
what is in front of me
tall grass singing
to the rhythm
of the wind
sun rays dancing
on the water.

I savor this composition
a creation of Divine design,
I take a breath and hold it
close to my heart.
