The New You…The Green You

Ahhh, the scent of the Spring.  With crisp fresh March breezes, comes new life.  Spring is the natural time of beginnings...new growth, new greenery, and the potential for a new you.

The NEW sparks new energy.  Energy that can be harnessed for yard work, improvement, or exercise.  With this sparks the potential for a new you!  But what to change?  Wasn’t the “old” me doing just fine?  Perhaps, but our natural human nature is to evolve.  Without growth and change, we do not open ourselves to new and potentially exciting new opportunities.  These exciting opportunities are what make us ALIVE!  So why not start today?  Why not open ourselves to the new and exciting life of you tomorrow?

But where to start?  For me, I first look at how my life is flowing.  I ask myself:

Do I have joy in my life?
Can I physically do what I want and desire?
Do I have balance in my life?

These speak to my 3 core principles of Mind, Body and Spirit.  I could look at new growth in just one of these realms…or (as is more my personal style) I could chunk off growth and change in all the areas!  The choice is completely your own.

2010 ushered in a very new energy.  With this new decade, we are constantly reminded of the importance of being mindful of our choices about our world.  This is mirrored in our own lives.  As we usher in greener living as a community and world, should we not also look at ushering in a greener “me”? “Greener” to me means “greater consciousness.” With regard to our world…it means environmental responsibility…to take care of our mother Earth, so that she can care for us.  This applies to our inner world as well…we need to be good to our body, mind and spirit, so that it can be good for us.

For me, I wrote down potential “greening” that I could explore for each of the realms.

Mind:  Do I have joy in my life?

  • Do I fill my thoughts with joyful thoughts?
  • Do I fall into patterns/habits that encourage negative thoughts or actions?
  • Can I silence the negative inner voice and listen only to the positive, affirming voice?

Body:  Can I physically do what I want and desire?

  • Am I engaging in physical exercise or regular activity that I enjoy?
  • Am I taking in only healthy foods into my system?
  • What is realistic for me to do, so that I can enjoy it without the potential for over-doing or injury?

Spirit:  Do I have balance in my life?

  • What can I do to strengthen my connection to Spirit/Higher Consciousness/God?
  • Do I have Inner Peace?  Do I live in this Inner Peace daily?
  • Do I bring my Peace and balance into the world to help and serve others?

There are many questions that I could develop, but I need to start at a realistic point.  As I examine my answers to these questions, they spell out my blueprint for a new and greener me!   From there, I can choose one thing each day to fulfill each category.  For you, you may choose to focus on just one realm such as the physical or the Spirit realm.  It is your blueprint, so it is important that it guides you to the new and greener you that YOU envision…no one else!

So…Hello Spring…Hello new ME…a green ME!
