You Reap What You Sow

My grandpa always told me
Be careful what you say
Because like a boomerang
It all comes back one day
Words may bounce like rubber
But they also stick like glue
They will bounce off everyone
And come right back at you
My grandpa was not religious
But I sure do think him wise
You see, it's easier to tell the truth
Than to keep track of your lies
It may not be tomorrow
And it may not be next week
But there will be a consequence
For every word you speak
So tell this to every child
And to all those who think deep
The words you sow today
Will be what you someday reap
