Marianne Williamson Inspires…

As one who has enjoyed Marianne Williamson’s many books, heard her speak at Renaissance Unity in Warren, MI, and most recently, attended her seminar “Miracles at Midlife,” I am deeply aware of her courage, her commitment to those things which never change, and to her own personal path of leadership in changing what must be changed. For over twenty years now she has encouraged us to come to terms with time; to heal the past, to lift and see clearly the present, and to care enough to, together, create an enlightened future for us all.
As she heals her own past, she offers us the courage to heal ours, and as she has said in her book A Woman’s Worth: “At a certain point, our bitterness falls away, not in some epiphanic instant, but over countless years. It is the most joyous thing to feel ourselves aging backward, becoming more like children, … And when we do, our hearts finally melt. Our rage transmutes. Our burdens are released. And that is our birth into who we really are.” Time is reversible!
In her seminar, “Miracles at Midlife,” she is now asking us to personally and collectively heal the present. She is putting out the call to transcend and transform the culturally implied limitations of aging and to help end this infectious wave of “youth-itis.” Offering to the audience humorous wisdom such as, “A rocking chair can rock the world” and “Your age is the last thing that would slow down God,” she leads us to remember what is, after all, not a new truth, but one known and forgotten by many: Age is not a limit, not a reduction in our value, but a doorway to deeper service, to a higher love, to being our divine selves here on earth. In this seminar, she asks us to honor our bodies and walk through the door to divine love. Now is the time…
Whether she is asking us with her books to Return to Love, to participate in Healing the Soul of America, or reminding us ofThe Gift ofChange and A Woman’s Worth, Marianne Williamson continues to offer out her own life to us as inspiration, to release what has gone before and all that currently binds us so that we may connect ever more deeply with our timeless divinity. One cannot help but feel her as a sister human, and a divine messenger, as are we all.
It is truly vital that we deepen now into this divine love. And provide it generously, maturely, and unwaveringly to ourselves, to our world, to our universe… It is equally vital that we change what needs changing, create what needs creating, and end what needs ending… individually and collectively. It is clear that Marianne Williamson is one of the many souls, both those known and un-known, who are walking this path…the path of the timely and the timeless as we all unfold into who we truly are.
