Time

Well, the theme for this issue is Time.  It seems very appropriate when just about everywhere you go, people seem to be so concerned with it.  With our busy schedules - meeting the demands of family, getting to work, running errands and meeting deadlines (certainly one of my challenges) time seems to disappear much faster than the items on our to-do lists.  Many scientists, visionaries, writers on esoteric thought, etc. are telling us that time, at this step in our evolutionary growth, is literally speeding up.

And I tend to agree with them!

It’s all too tempting to think of time as the enemy – something to run against or beat.  I can fall easily into this attitude, especially when deadlines seem to spring up faster than dandelions in the lawn, and with a lot more urgency!  Instead of stopping to take a deep breath to get centered and grounded, I can find myself giving in to the urge to “plow through,”  going into a rush of activity and worry to meet the dates so efficiently marked on the calendar.  Many people are expressing similar feelings and I hear the phrase “stretched to the limit” a lot lately.

I can forget that time is a wonderful mechanism for measuring change, a beautiful gift of the universe.  The passage of time provides the framework within which each one of us can stretch and grow to meet the promised potential we were born with.  With the markers of time we get to feel our sense of achievement.  We emerge, strengthened and somehow lighter, after coming through difficult and challenging periods of our lives.  And, as the artists of our own lives, it is only through this mechanism of time that we get to witness the unfolding of our creations.

We at Healing Garden Journal continue to experience this creative urge to grow - to expand even further into our vision and the Journal’s potential.  We are excited about  the changes we’ve now begun to make in the look, feel, and content of the magazine.  We make them as we begin to more broadly reflect our ever deepening awareness of ourselves and others within the context of our World Community.  We intend that they also reflect the awareness that the consequences of each person’s attitudes, beliefs and actions are experienced not by us alone, but by all citizens of this world community.  We invite you to celebrate with us over the next few issues, as we continue to expand in our mission!
