Make It a High Vibration Summer!

Brad and Jan Lundy

Summer is the ideal time for exploring and expanding our freedoms.  We have thrown off the cold weather and all its gear.  We feel lighter with less constraints in our choices of activities and movements.  The vibration of summer draws us out to spend more time in the out-of-doors.  Interesting phrase, “out-of-doors.”  Nature is, literally, “out-of-doors”.   No doors to restrain us, to hold us in.  We are free to roam and take in the sights, sounds, and smells of Mother Earth’s magnificent, natural beauty.

What is it in nature that can do so much for us in so little time?  HER VIBRATION! Nature offers us the perfect experience of high-vibration living.  Nature is vibrantly alive, in a constant state of growth and flux, offering a true feast for the senses.  From brilliant blue waters to fragrant lavender lilacs, nature’s allure transmits a high vibration that makes us sit up and take notice.  Through its beauty and essence, nature invites us to new places within us:  serenity, simplicity, appreciation, receptivity, gentleness, abundance.  If these are the effects of nature’s vibration without doors, what are the effects of vibration with doors?

Our life indoors can nurture us and it can also imprison us.  Walk into the average American household, restaurant, or bar, or stroll through a shopping center or airport, and you’ll easily feel the effects of low-vibration output.  Television, the internet, radio, newspapers, and magazines can all have a powerful effect on us because they project primarily negative images and messages.  A recent study by USA Today, confirmed what we’ve suspected for a very long time now:  95% of everything that is reported and conveyed through the media is negative.  Violence, death, loss, war, corruption, and crime are the predominant topics of the day.  Do these reportings affect us negatively?  They most certainly do!  Depression, anxiety, anger, worry, and fear are at an all time high, evidenced by the millions of people who take prescription drugs to combat these emotional woes.

When we allow the messages transmitted by the media to choose us instead of us choosing them, we give away our freedom of choice.  We need our freedom of choice if we are ever to determine the vibration in which we wish to live.  A friend of ours recently told us that television is his outlet after a long day at work.  It’s a comforting old friend to him, a good form of relaxation.  We agree that, of course, there are “good” programs to watch, but realistically, these make up a very small percentage of what the networks offer.  It has been our personal experience that the average television program does not raise our vibration, but actually lowers it quite dramatically.  We never knew to what extent until we gave it up ourselves.

Last summer we downsized our home and moved to a small cottage on the Grand Traverse Bay.  We did not bring the television with us.  We had nothing to look at when it was time to kick back and relax except the sparkling blue-green waters of the Bay.  Within weeks we began to notice a difference in how we felt.  Our personal vibrations were noticeably higher.  We felt more peace-filled, patient, loving, and grateful to be living in a place of such great beauty.  On a day-to-day basis we were able to see and feel the difference in our vibrations before, with television and news, and now, without it. The difference was remarkable.

By giving up the television and its perpetual noise and negative messages (and most recently, the internet news), we learned about a whole new world filled-to-overflowing with high-vibration activities:  reading, walking, cooking, music, hobbies, crafts, sightseeing, gardening, bird watching, day trips, family gatherings, picnics, and more. The list of high-vibration possibilities continues to grow.

At a recent retreat someone once asked what was the very best thing they could do to create a more peace-filled, high-vibration life for them self.  Unequivocally, we said, “Turn off the television, and be amazed at what happens in your life.”  By turning off the television, each of us begins the journey of choosing what is good and true for us, instead of allowing others, in this case, broadcasters and advertisers, to choose for us.  To make high-vibration choices for ourselves on a moment-to-moment basis, determining what it is that makes us feel good and aligns us with Spirit.  Or, what disempowers us, miring us in the ego and its negative messages.  Granted, this may not be an easy task, even counter cultural, especially when (as we recently learned) there are more televisions in our homes than are family members.  In the U.S., TVs actually outnumber people.

Maintaining a high vibration is the essence of a full and joyous life.  A low vibration is the essence of struggle and discontent.  This summer choose to follow the high vibration path to happiness.  We invite you to unplug your television and plug in to Mother Nature instead.  Radical gifts of personal freedom await!~
