Embracing and Flowing with Change
by Willowbei Eversole
In every life and in every adventure in life there is a time for beginning and a time for ending; there is a time for continuing and a time for change. The time has come for me to discontinue writing for Healing Garden Journal, on a regular basis.
For six years I have had the privilege of sharing poetry and/or other thoughts with you, the dedicated reader of Healing Garden Journal. This has been a wonderful, rewarding and growth filled experience for me. I hope each of you has been stimulated to think, question and/or look at the world differently.
The past few months have brought me many challenges and many opportunities. My energies are being called in other directions. This will be my last regular article for Healing Garden Journal. I say regular article because spirit is always bringing us opportunities and guiding us in directions that can be unexpected and exciting at the same time. If and when the spirit moves me I may submit a piece to Healing Garden Journal in the future.
From childhood my life has been filled with change. On a regular basis I have had great opportunities to practice adjusting to the ebb and flow of life. Our ever-expanding Universe lovingly presents each of us and all of us with new adventures and new challenges. We grow, we expand, we change and we find within ourselves the wonder and the power of our eternal spirit.
I embrace new opportunities with faith, hope and an open mind. What lies ahead isn’t completely clear, yet I do see the beginnings of a path and I know as I put one foot in front of the other I will discover where that path leads.
Part of me will miss these bi-monthly chats. Part of me looks forward to the adventure that is to come. I understand that change is essential to growth. I know I will continue to learn more about embracing and flowing with the change in my life.
I leave you with a thought that this space has allowed me to present on a regular basis. We are One. Forever and eternally we are all One. It doesn’t matter if we see each other each day, if we share a bimonthly chat or if we are on opposite sides of the world, Oneness is where we live.
My thanks to each and every reader that has been open to my sharing over the past six wonderful years.
Peace & Blessings to the readers and staff of Healing Garden Journal,
Willowbei
Dear Readers,
It’s fitting that we are saying goodbye to our dear friend Willowbei in this, our Ancestors issue. We are deeply grateful to Brad and Jan for finding Willowbei’s writings so many years back, and to Willowbei for walking with us in these four issues as we have found our solid footing as the new stewards of HGJ. Willowbei is literally and truly a part of HGJ’s ancestral heritage…the shoulders on which we stand.
We are sad that Willowbei’s ‘final thoughts’ will no longer be the send off to our readers in each issue. However we, like Willowbei, understand and know that there is a beginning and an end to everything in this life. Therefore, we stop and send gratitude to all the people who have walked before us.
In the case of Willowbei, our gratitude goes beyond words - his articles and poems, and his simple beingness, have for years conferred a deep sense of compassion, calm and wonder to all those who know him and all those who have read his words. He has made us think about and appreciate everything from politics to the simple wonders of a fresh baked loaf of bread. He has offered us insight into the mundane and the profound. He has posed the grand questions about our spiritual nature, and the smaller questions about how we are living in this moment.
Willowbei, we honor everything you have given to us and all the readers of HGJ, and we wish you well on your new and exciting adventures to come.
With Deep Love and Appreciation,
The Staff of Healing Garden Journal
