Nature’s Reminders
by Willowbei Eversole
Last issue, I brought up the subject of taking our spiritual awareness to the next level. That was as much a reminder to myself as to those who read Healing Garden Journal. The excitement we feel in our soul as we expand ourselves can sometimes be dampened by the earthly challenge of living at a higher level. As the Universe would have it, our everyday world presents us with constant reminders of what is possible. We have but to open our hearts to see it.
As spring moves into summer can we allow the full and rich expression of life to touch deeply into our Being? Can we open our hearts to the abundant wonder around us? Can we be with the ever-present reminders of strength, love, faith, joy and hope available to us?
Our plant and animal friends seem to relish the miracles present in the season. They freely express the glory and magnificence of our loving Universe. When we are functioning in our place of fullness, we do the same.
Yet, as humans we sometimes get caught up in doubt and fear and fail to move forward as we know we can. When we doubt our abilities, when we focus on lack, when we refuse to honor our inherent capacity to express our divinity, we create a situation that is less than full and divine. In this place we can miss the wonder and truth so present in our lives.
Have you ever noticed a blade of grass pushing through four inches of concrete? Have you ever felt the abundance present in the new growth of a tree? In our Oneness we are no different than that blade of grass or that vibrant tree. Each of us has the same sacred connection to our loving Universe.
Truth is always present in our lives. Nature is one of the places we experience that truth. We also find truth when we connect to our divine heritage and look within our own hearts and the hearts of our fellow travelers. Our human ability to deny the truth, to hide the truth, to sometimes run from the truth can lead us to places that are difficult and discouraging.
As spiritual Beings living in a physical world we face a wide range of challenges, both individually and collectively. Our ability to tap into the Oneness of life and flow with the love that we are can make all the difference in the world.
For every discouraging situation there is a place of encouragement in our heart. Each time we expand ourselves to act in faith, to move with love, to bring kindness into our heart we make a connection to the wisdom within; we take another step in the direction of our essence.
Let us take inspiration from nature and open to our Oneness. Let us move from our hearts with dedication and purpose. Let us make a conscious decision to do all we can to create a life of love, joy, peace, prosperity and cooperation. Our Universe is constantly working with us to this end. Let us work with each other to raise ourselves to that next higher level.
