Cellular Cleansing Made Easy

By Keli MacIntosh

This time of year pretty much everybody is making a list of resolutions for the months to come, and some sort of new diet is usually near the top. I, for one, am glad to see that the latest flow of fad diets has been more health-conscious than those of the past. Now at least there is an emphasis on a variety of healthy foods.

However, no diet regimen will produce the desired results if your body is loaded with toxins. And, in our culture, it’s hard not to be loaded with toxins—the air we breathe, the water we drink, the foods we eat, the clothes we wear, the carpets in our homes—need I go on?

It’s not like we are being blatantly poisoned and can expect an immediate demise. But things just don’t work right with toxic deposits throughout our cells. It’s sort of like a little bit of sand in a precision engine; over time the irritation can really affect its function.

The easiest, safest, most proficient way to clear the body of this gradual build up of toxins is to do a cellular cleanse. And the best way to accomplish this is by using a specific regimen of wholesome foods like those outlined in Scott Ohlgren’s book Cellular Cleansing Made Easy.

Scott shows how some foods (such as meats, fish, dairy, sugar, wheat, caffeine and alcohol) can be mucous forming or have a congestive nature; and other foods (like fruits, vegetables, fresh juices, mineral broths, garlic, wheat grass, and water) stimulate cleansing and improve cellular function.

Scott’s program is one month long. It begins with a week of gradually easing into the cleanse by eliminating undesired foods. The next week there is a concentration on dumping the unwanted toxins and waste materials. The third week gets a bit more serious with organ-specific cleanses. And the last week is a time for creating new dietary habits while building back to a normal diet. Some people choose to go down to just fresh juices during the third week; others enjoy three meals a day throughout the entire cleanse.

Scott insists that not going hungry is what differentiates his cleanse from other health diets. You can eat as much as you want of the acceptable foods. And most people lose a significant amount of unwanted weight regardless.

In his book, Scott suggests several supportive therapies as a part of the program:
  • Massage assists with lymph drainage to escort toxins from the body.
  • Sauna rounds will help stimulate excretion through the skin.
  • Colonics keep the bowels moving and flush out the waste products produced by the cleanse.

Most people feel rejuvenated after completing this cellular cleanse. They also find their tastes have changed and they are no longer drawn to their old cravings. Another great benefit is a regeneration of health. People often find they have more energy, their aches and pains begin to disappear, and they may also simultaneously experience some sort of emotional/spiritual cleansing.

So why not do some serious spring cleaning this year and get down to the cellular level. With minimal planning and preparation you can focus your energy toward improving your health while you are getting ready for spring.

May your lifestyle be a healthy one!
