NOURISHING OUR INNER GARDEN

By Suzi Bright Owl

This morning I sat on my porch and soaked in the warmth of Grandfather Sun as the heat enveloped my body. Each morning I create a special time to ground myself, to connect with the flow of universal energy, and to open my heart to myself and to life. Often this reminds me of one of my favorite stories from the Sweet Medicine SunDance Path of Grandfather Sun making love to Grandmother Earth and the birthing of their children: the mineral world, the plant world, the animal world, and the human world. When the sunrays penetrate my body, I reawaken to this natural process of my womb needing to birth. My oneness with Grandfather Sun, Grandmother Earth, and their children resonates in my body as a powerful feminine knowing.

As the dark, moist soil of Grandmother Earth’s belly incubates life, so too do our wombs hold the mystery of procreation as a lifelong journey. As women, we rebirth ourselves many times on our journey of living life! One of my favorite quotes from Anais Nin, ”and the day came when the risk it took to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom,” supports the natural evolution of our need to bloom wherever we are planted.

This spring as Grandmother Earth births the plant world, soak in the beauty of this amazingly natural expansion. Nothing will stop this birthing process. Smell the earth. Delight in the magnificence of color beyond our wildest imagination. Awe in the multitude of shapes and sizes that create this brilliant bouquet of life. Lay belly down on this fertile womb to merge our life force energies with the earth’s powerful healing vibrations. Circulate this birthing energy from Grandmother Earth to us as one mother dancing with her sexual life force energy. See all of life as sexual and birthing before our eyes. Connect with the oneness of all of creation and know in our body the beauty and power in allowing this process to unfold naturally without judgment.

What personal aspect of self is laying dormant in each of our inner gardens? There are seeds germinating in each of our wombs readying themselves to transcend the journey from the darkness into the light to bloom in brilliance. We are each magnificent in our individual journeys and earth shattering when we combine our energies as one. The mineral, plant, and animal worlds of Grandmother Earth support and respect each other individually and as co-creators in the natural ecosystem for the planet. There is no judgment, no jealousy, and no intimidation as in the human world.

Imagine if we each tended our individual garden knowing we are meant to bloom to create a larger harmonious, sensual bouquet known as humanity! Imagine knowing that each and every flower has beauty, power, and purpose that can stand alone or can create shifts in the consciousness of our planet if merged into one magnificent vibrational field. This is possible when we realize that all of our stories overlap. This is possible when we support every woman realizing as Marianne Williamson states, “Bless other women. Do not tear them down. Remember they are you - your sisters, teachers, mothers, daughters.” Intimidation and fear stops our flow of energy squeezing the life out of our innate ability to blossom.

Join women in sharing our stories. Support women in business ventures even if they are similar to your business. Each woman has her own way of sharing herstory. View each one of us as a part of the bigger picture enabling women to dance, speak, and bloom free of oppression and invalidation. An interesting website I came across is www.boomerwomenspeak.com where women are sharing their stories to impact other women on their path of self-growth and self-evolution. Imagine a world filled with women unfurling their magnificence for our senses in each season of their life to bloom again and again and again and again.
